Praised by Opera News for her “smooth-toned mezzo" and for her ability to "spin floating, shimmering lines", Megan Dey-Tóth is a young singer who garners attention wherever she sings. Career highlights include perfomances of Young Offred in the North American premiere of THE HANDMAID'S TALE with Minnesota Opera, Hansel in HANSEL AND GRETEL with Arizona Opera, Charlotte in WERTHER for Sarasota Opera, Cherubino in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO and Siébel in FAUST with Los Angeles Opera, and concert appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic under Esa-Pekka Salonen’s baton. Personally selected by Christa Ludwig for public master classes and a Lieder concert at Carnegie Hall, Ms. Ludwig declared that Ms. Dey-Tóth had one one problem -- “too much talent”.

Recent and upcoming engagements include the Mozart REQUIEM at Carnegie Hall under John Rutter's baton, Handel's MESSIAH at the Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Sesto in LA CLEMENZA DI TITO with the Fremont Symphony Orchestra, Judith in Bartok's BLUEBEARD'S CASTLE for the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, the premiere of Jacob's "Song of Aphrodite" in Philadelphia with Charles Abramovic at the piano and numerous appearances in art song recitals with Lyric Fest in Philadelphia.

The 2003-04 season included a return to Sarasota Opera as Charlotte in WERTHER, performances of Mahler's DAS LIED VON DER ERDE with the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, and Beethoven's NINTH SYMPHONY with the Hartford Symphony Orchestra. The 2002-03 season included debuts as Hansel in HANSEL AND GRETEL with Arizona Opera, Young Offred in Ruders’ THE HANDMAID’S TALE with Minnesota Opera and Orlofsky in DIE FLEDERMAUS with Sarasota Opera. Concert engagements included a return to the Los Angeles Philharmonic as Hänsel in excerpts of HÄNSEL UND GRETEL.

Megan Dey-Tóth performed many roles with Los Angeles Opera, including Cherubino in LE NOZZE DI FIGARO, Siébel in a FAUST cast including Samuel Ramey, Mercédès in a CARMEN cast including Placido Domingo, and Flora in LA TRAVIATA. She repeated her Siébel for New Orleans Opera. She performed the role of Karolka in JENUFA with Long Beach Opera, Charlotte in WERTHER for Dicapo Opera Theatre and Giovanna in RIGOLETTO for San Diego Opera.

Ms. Dey-Tóth was a Resident Artist with Los Angeles Opera and an apprentice artist with Santa Fe Opera, Central City Opera, and Glimmerglass Opera. She made her operatic debut as Pauline in THE QUEEN OF SPADES and as Third Lady in THE MAGIC FLUTE with Central City Opera. With Glimmerglass Opera she performed Il Destino in Cavalli’s LA CALISTO under Jane Glover's baton.

Raised in Berkeley, California, Ms. Dey-Tóth studied in Italy as a Fulbright Grant recipient and at Philadelphia’s acclaimed Academy of Vocal Arts where she appeared in the title role of THE RAPE OF LUCRETIA. She won First Place in the Florida Grand Opera Competition, the Outstanding Apprentice Award from Santa Fe Opera, and was a National Winner in the Loren L. Zachary Competition.
